I didn't finish anything like I had hoped but this week should be better. I blame the bestie for too much video games lol.

Quarantine continues...as does the one-click ebook buying.
It's been really warm summer so not a lot of baking has been going on but I did make a batch of ham and cheddar scones. They are kind of flat but I'm going to try again and see if I can make them puff up.
Another week in quarantine as cases in California start to rise again to the point we spiked 10,000 positive cases on Tuesday. The highest single day on record for positive tests so far. Honestly, as masks are required for going out I wasn't expecting to see the spikes so much over the last week. I hope we can get it under control because things across the country aren't looking much better.
A new scandal is breaking with several big online retailers this week Overstock, Wayfair, Amazon and a few other big names came under fire for human trafficking via selling items for crazy amounts of money with names for people missing. Nothing has been proven yet but it's one of the big conspiracy theories that's floating during the last few days.
The weather has been hot to the point I didn't want to cook because it would heat up the house to much. I'm making a turkey breast today and sandwiches with salad for dinner because we are looking forward to another triple digit day.

Stay Safe Mandy! Happy Reading or video gaming...whatever :)
Mmm, ham and cheddar scones sound good! But erk, I hate hot weather! Here's hoping it cools down for you. Enjoy the new books!
ReplyDeleteMy STS/weekly roundup post.
My husband and I were in California in January-April for his job. Covid cases were climbing so fast, we were happy when it was time to move on. We're in Oregon now and cases are increasing but with much lower numbers than a lot of other states. Enjoy your week!
ReplyDeleteWe're in the mid 90s pretty much daily now but having AC again I did use the oven this past week. July is the worst of it here and early August. So only another month. We mostly stay inside anyway. I made GF donuts this week and want to fiddle with the recipe for the next time.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week and stay well!

Your savory scones look yummy. Stay cool and happy reading.
ReplyDeleteMy tip for scones..need the dough as little as possible, and make sure the disks are touching on the tray..they push each other up that way as they rise
ReplyDeleteWishing you a great reading week, and cooler weather
Scotland is doing really well but I do wonder with our lockdown being gradually lifted if more cases will occur.
ReplyDeleteHave a good week and stay safe.
