The Sunday Post

The Sunday Post
Hosted by:

The Sunday post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer~ It's a chance to share new ~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

Happy Sunday!
The kids are on summer break and super excited to be able to stay up late and not have to get up early. It's always nice not having to do the morning battle, as neither of my kids are morning people. We've been trying to find our summer routine hopefully we will find our groove this week as last week was pure chaos.

I've decided it's time to give The Reading Diaries a facelift which it much needs. I'm a little excited because I have a bunch of fun post ideas for the future. It's been years since I've changed my layout, colors, and even updated. It's going to take a while but I'm looking forward to seeing how it turns out.

I didn't get to read as much as I would have liked but towards the end of the week, I found my reading time. Just need to sit down so I can write some reviews.

Currently 77 of 250 and behind a lot. I'm hoping to catch up by the end of the summer.

Read this past week

Water & Blood by B. Kristin McMichael
A Week in New York by Louise Bay (to come)
Brace-Face and the Beast by Portia Perotti (to come)

Posts you may have missed at TRD this week or the prior week.
Crafty projects & Baking/cooking & Gardening.

Crafty
I finished one bag this week and actually shipped it off to my husband's aunt. It was a surprise so I didn't get a picture posted this week.
Also finished a Lilo and Stich bag for a friend who's moving to Guam for the next few years.

I'm still working on my Cross stitch but didn't get as much done and working on the never ending mermaid tail as they are now calling it.

 Foodie
Normally I cook every night but do to the first week of summer break I let the kids pick a lot of the choices which didn't require cooking but more takeout or sitting down in places. I've already started my meal plan for the new week so lots of cooking. The kids have a lot of fun stuff on our to-do list this summer and I need to pick one out for this week.
My husband and I teamed up to make shrimp tacos. Super easy but very yummy we plan to make them again. I love that he enjoys cooking as much as I do.
Yesterday morning I was craving a breakfast burrito so I had to make one. The perfect way to start a busy Saturday. They are so easy to make we always keep stuff on hand to make them.

Garden
This garden and I are not getting along. No matter what I do everything wants to die but still hang on. My cherry tomatoes are thriving but something is eating the leaves off of some of them no matter what I do. It's super frustrating but hopefully, I can figure it out. Might pick up some ladybugs this week.

Fitness
Haven't been sleeping well but I plan to start back in the groove today. Starting slowly just a few miles as it's still a weekend but Monday back to 3 miles in the morning and three more during the day.

Quote/ fun stuff
These always make me smile. This one seems to be how I am feeling this week. No one wants to let me read.

  4. The last makeover I gave my blog I sort of love so much I can't change it. However I have been trying to decided if I want a more simple header or stay with what I got, I do love my little girl.

I am so looking forward to summer vacation, they drive me nuts when they are home but that early morning lunch, breakfast and out of the house and me off to work will be much nice. My son has a summer program but he wont have to get up so early. That makes me and him very excited.

Have a great week, Mandy! Love the stitch bag and can't wait to see the new layout! Happy Reading! ox
