Dewey's 24 Hour Read-a-thon
Check it out (Here)

The time has come to start reading!!!!
Goal is to read as many as I can reviews I can do tomorrow.
I'll keep this post updated so I can do it while I'm on the road if need be. I don't plan to read all 24 but I do plan to read most of the day.

Reading/read list

Turned by Michelle Fox
Given Athena Wright
Ice by M.S. Watson

Challenges
Opening Meme & Intro Survey
1) What fine part of the world are you reading from today? I'm in Northern California. Between San Francisco and Sacramento
2) Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to? I actually didn't even create a list because I was just so excited to read. I'm just picking what works for me.
3) Which snack are you most looking forward to? I'm not a huge snacker but I would say coffee and Biscotti homemade of course.
4) Tell us a little something about yourself! I'm super shy....but once you get to know me I don't shut up.
5) If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today? If this is your first read-a-thon, what are you most looking forward to? I had family plans that day I didn't adjust for the readathon. This time around the whole family is on the same page and allowing me to read as much as I like.

Bookish other half
Check out the others (here
my bookish other half would be Kat from the Lux series by Jennifer Lopez. Armentrout. We are a lot alike as book obsessed bloggers. We both are attached to the same kind of men. Infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. I honestly think Kat and I would be besties in real life.

Book and Snack Challenge
She has pumpkin Biscotti
I wish I did too.

My current snack is Apple Cinnamon Straws & Bottled Water

Bookish Memories
Here is mine
My favorite bookish memory is that my mother would take my sister and I to the library every week. We would each have a bookbag we would load up with books. Typically we would come home with 40 books between the three of us. My mom would help us pick out books and then we would help her pick out adult books. We did a lot of reading with my mom and she’s the reason I love to read so much. All those years of visits to the library.

A Puzzling Challenge

Literary World Tour
Over @ Ampersand Read Check it out (here)
If money and time were no object I would want to split my time at Hogwarts and the fairy world of A Court of Thorns and Roses. This way my husband and I will both be happy. Plus if I do his world I know he will do mine.

Cast your Book
Over @ The Reader's Room
I'm only Starting my book so it's hard to cast who i think it would be.
I'm also reading Heat by Alyssa Rose Ivy for this one I see Mara as Anna Kendrick
and Ian as Scott Eastwood....he may be a little older but it just works for me.

Red, White, and Blue Books

Mid-Event Survey

1. What are you reading right now? I'm honestly all over. I'm reading Ice right now.
2. How many books have you read so far? Just finished 1
3. What book are you most looking forward to for the second half of the Read-a-thon? I'm not sure since I'm picking them randomly as I go.
4. Have you had many interruptions? How did you deal with those? I've had lots of those today. We had soccer this am but it was great to see the little play. Then we did a little shopping groceries plus a book and new running shoes. So a win. Then between the husband, kids, and dogs it's been tough. However, the day is winding down so I should be able to get this one finished and a few manga and maybe a novella or two.
5. What surprises you most about the Read-a-thon, so far? I love all the challenges. Each round I'm always curious to see what people will come up with next.

Plan a bookish party
I've hosted lots of book club events so this one is easy.
What book is your party themed around? Since Halloween is just around the corner I think Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar children would be a fun theme. However, I haven't read the book yet so I'm winging it.
What food will you serve? I would do finger foods, dips, jalapeno stuffed peppers. Cupcakes of course.
What’s your signature drink? I would do a tropical slushy drink with frozen fruit.
What games will you play? Truth of Dare with fun dares of course.
What party favors will you send home with your guests?  This one is tough I don't know what I would send home. Maybe because I'm so artsy and creative I would send journals home.

  1. That should be fun to pick up books at random! At least that way you don't have a big pile staring you in the face and you get bogged down by it.
    Happy reading!
