Waiting on Wednesday

Waiting on Wednesday
Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking The Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases we're eagerly anticipating. In my case not so patiently waiting for the new releases, which I lack.

I've had my eye on this one for a while it sounds amazing. I can't wait to get my hands on a copy.

My Choice this week is

Sky WIthout Stars
by - Jessica Brody & Joanne Rendell
Expected Publication - May 25th 2019

A thief. An officer. A guardian.

Three strangers, one shared destiny . . .

When the Last Days came, the planet of Laterre promised hope. A new life for a wealthy French family and their descendants. But five hundred years later, it’s now a place where an extravagant elite class reigns supreme; where the clouds hide the stars and the poor starve in the streets; where a rebel group, long thought dead, is resurfacing.

Whispers of revolution have begun—a revolution that hinges on three unlikely heroes…

Chatine is a street-savvy thief who will do anything to escape the brutal Regime, including spy on Marcellus, the grandson of the most powerful man on the planet.

Marcellus is an officer—and the son of a renowned traitor. In training to take command of the military, Marcellus begins to doubt the government he’s vowed to serve when his father dies and leaves behind a cryptic message that only one person can read: a girl named Alouette.

Alouette is living in an underground refuge, where she guards and protects the last surviving library on the planet. But a shocking murder will bring Alouette to the surface for the first time in twelve years…and plunge Laterre into chaos.

All three have a role to play in a dangerous game of revolution—and together they will shape the future of a planet.

Power, romance, and destiny collide in this sweeping reimagining of Victor Hugo’s masterpiece, Les Misérables.
What are you waiting on?

How it works
The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, January 27th and runs through Sunday, January 13th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 18 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. - From the Bout of Books team.

I love this challenge and take part of it each round.

I've been in a little bit of blogging and reading slump the last few months. I'm thinking bout of books is just what I need to pull myself out of the slump.

Goals for the week

I can't set a TBR as I've always been a mood reader and never stick to it.
5 Novels
10 Comic books.
3 Manga
3 Graphic novels
2 Novellas

Yea this list is long but some of them are short. Some of them have been on my TBR for far too long. I have so many comics, manga and novellas to read.

I also want to participate in all the challenges.

Be sure to join us.

2019 Challenges

2019 Challenges & Goals

Happy New Year! I love January 1st because I'm kind of a challenge addict and I love making lists.

I didn't do as well as I would have hoped with my 2018 challenges but real life seemed to get in the way. I also had a case of burnout on reading, blogging and even posting on Instagram. I've decided to pick a bunch of challenges that I will enjoy and will keep things enjoyable.

My reading goal is 250 books. I didn't hit my goal last year but I'm sure this year I will be able to exceed my goal.

I think I need this one to keep me going this year. I've got so many things I want to work on but I made a list that it's overwhelming. I'm hoping this list will be easy to keep me going all year long.

This is my challenge list for 2019. I don't plan on adding to the list but you never know.

I think this one is perfect for this year. I'm all about being more active and finding my blogging/reading love again. Real life has been wearing me down and both are lacking. I've made a realistic list of goals for 2019 which I should be able to accomplish.

Goals
Read 250 books
Participate in Bout of Books each time.
Participate in Deweys 24 hour Read-a-thon.
Write a new discussion post each week.
Catch up on my review pile at least 2 books per month.
Read 1 non-fiction each month.
Read more Manga, Graphic novels and comic books.
Get my reviews written right away.

So far these are the ones I currently have. Might add a few more we will see.

A Year in Anthologies!

A Year in Anthologies!

This one is kind of perfect for me. I'm always one clicking anthologies on Amazon. I just never seem to get around to them but I have over 100 of them on my kindle. I'm hoping this challenge will force me to read some of them this year. I know looking at my TBR I have a bunch I want to read.

Goal
I plan to read 12
I per month is the goal

So far these are on my list of potential
This is my list so far. I have plenty more to add but figured this is a great start.

I love this challenge the list is almost perfect for my reading taste. A few might be a little tougher but I think I can find a book to fit the list. I'm planning on reading them all with at least once a month. The plus side is most of these will fit for a few other challenges.

2019 Popsugar Challenge

2019 Popsugar Challenge
Find the Post (here)
I had planned to do this one last year but never seemed to get around to it. I do love this years list and think I can find more books to fit what I'll be in the mood for.

Goal
Planning to read every topic as well as the advanced list.
I'm also going to track it in my bullet journal this year as well as right here on the blog. The list has so many options I'm not sure which one will be first but I'm hoping to knock a few off each month.

2019 Book Blog Discussion Challenge

2019 Book Blog Discussion Challenge

I have signed up to do this for a few years but always seem to fail when it comes to doing it. Hosted by the lovely ladies Feed Your Fiction Addiction and It Starts at Midnight
I've not had a lot of luck with this challenge in the past but I'm hopeful this will be my year.

Goals
I'm planning to write 12 posts one for each month.

I figure starting slowly is the best option so I don't feel overwhelmed. However, I'm secretly hoping that by the end of the year I'll be doing at least once a week. I can't wait to see what everyone else is coming up with this year.

Be sure to use #LetsDiscuss2019 to share.
