Throwback Thursday July 12th

Throwback Thursday is a weekly meme hosted by The Housework Can Wait and Never to fond of Books.

It's the nature of book blogging to focus mainly on new releases, but there are thousands of great books out there that haven't seen the "New Releases" shelf in years. We hope to be able to bring attention to some older titles that may or not be at the top of the current bestseller list, but still deserve a spot in your To-Be-Read pile.

You don't have to be a book blogger to participate! You can put up a Throwback Thursday post on your non-bookish blog; or if you don't have a blog at all you can use the comments to tell us about a book your remember fondly.

Here's how it works:
1. Pick any book released more then 5 years ago. Adult, YA, Children's: doesn't matter. Any great book will do.
2. Write up a short summary of the book (include the title, author, and cover art) and an explanation of why you love it. Make sure to link back to The Housework Can Wait and Never Too Fond of Books in your post.
3. Link up your post at The Housework Can Wait or Never Too Fond of Books.
4. Visit as many blogs as you can, reminisce about books you loved and discover some "new" books for your TBR list!

Feel free to grab the Throwback Thursday button code from the sidebar to use in your posts.
Thanks for participating and we look forward to seeing which books you choose to remember!

One For The Money
Janet Evanovich
Book 1 in the Stephanie Plum Series
Publication January 1st 1994
Synopsis

Welcome to Trenton, New Jersey, home to wiseguys, average Joes, and Stephanie Plum, who sports a big attitude and even bigger money problems (since losing her job as a lingerie buyer for a department store). Stephanie needs cash--fast--but times are tough, and soon she's forced to turn to the last resort of the truly desperate: family.

Stephanie lands a gig at her sleazy cousin Vinnie's bail bonding company. She's got no experience. But that doesn't matter. Neither does the fact that the bail jumper is question is local vice cop Joe Morelli. From the time he first looked up her dress to the time he first got into her pants to the time Steph hit him with her father's Buick,   M-o-r-e-l-l-i has spelled t-r-o-u-b-l-e. And now the hot guy is in hot water--wanted for murder.

Abject poverty is a great motivator for learning new skills, but being trained in the school of hard knocks by people like psycho prizefighter Benito Ramirez isn't. Still, if Stephanie can nab Morelli in a week, she'll make a cool ten grand. All she has to do is become an expert bounty hunter overnight-- and keep herself from getting killed before she get's her man.

Review-
I love this book, almost as much as the movie, but I'm a big fan after Grey's Anatomy of Katherine Heigl. I happen to watch the movie this morning when I couldn't sleep so I decided this would be a perfect time to spotlight my favorite mystery series. I love this whole series I've been reading them since they first came out when I was in high school. The first book is where we meet most of the recurring characters, and best of all Stephanie Plum. It's one of those series where you just want to know what could possibly happen next. The first books Steph is getting her feet wet working as a bounty hunter who just happened to get lucky to be going after the man who scorned her when she was a teenager.  This book offers it all, suspense, mystery, action, hot guys, crazy family, and a hamster. Highly recommended, I've actually hooked most of my friends and family on this series over the years.

  1. I've heard great things about the Stephanie Plum books, although I've never read any of them. And I'll admit, I also want to see the movie, even though I know it received mixed reviews. Glad to hear how much you loved it! I'll have to check it out!

I know I'm super-late this week, but thanks for participating in Throwback Thursday!
