Review
I received this book from the Keith A. Ferstl in return for a honest review. The story is about  seventeen year old Jonathan who's had to move on after the death of his parents and brother to a deadly avian virus that killed many. He's living in a cabin on land that his family has owned for several generations right next to a former asylum. He's taken part time work as a dishwasher at the Institute, he's also keeps his mother greenhouse taken care of and selling the onions to the Institute.

Jonathan is exploring the medical facility one night, when he meet's the step-daughter of Dr. Sandor Serpa the head of the Phoenix Institute. McKenna Dupree the girl of his dreams. He's always watched her from a distance but never spoken to her until she pulls a gun on him threatening his life. The pair get's caught in an abandon'd part of the facility, where Dr. Serpa requests that Jonathan spends time with McKenna because  she doesn't have many friends.

Unfortunately McKenna becomes sick from a unknown virus, but instead of letting her step-father check her out medically they pair flee to her college roommates father who is a doctor. As luck would have it her father is out of town and the pair is forced to head to the hospital the following morning where McKenna's step-father takes her back to the Phoenix institute to work on her.

Jonathan set's out to find Dr. Grissom in hopes of being able to get in to rescue McKenna from her step-father. Instead Dr. Grisson is hiding away from the Phoenix Institute but he refers him to Dr. Chen a former doctor at the institute who will be the best choice to help him save McKenna. Jonathan set's out to find Dr. Chen, it's an adventure in itself. Upon finding doctor Chen they set out to get McKenna, only to learn that she's dead, but that they are going to reanimator.

I received this book in return for a honest review from the author. Wow, so much better then I expected. The synopsis had me interested from the start but as you get to know the characters and what's really going on in the Phoenix Institute it's so much more. The story is well written, extremely entertaining, it was hard to put it down, I just had to know what was going to happen. I finished it in one afternoon. It's a unique, suspense, thriller, that doesn't stop till you hit the last page. I can't wait to read more in the series.
