Synopsis

1814 promises to be another eventful season, but not, this author believes, for Anthony Bridgerton, London's most elusive bachelor, who has shown no indication that he plans to marry.

And in truth, why should he? When it comes to playing the consummate rake, nobody does it better...

—Lady Whistledown's Society Papers, April 1814

But this time, the gossip columnists have it wrong. Anthony Bridgerton hasn't just decided to marry—he's even chosen a wife! The only obstacle is his intended's older sister, Kate Sheffield—the most meddlesome woman ever to grace a London ballroom. The spirited schemer is driving Anthony mad with her determination to stop the betrothal, but when he closes his eyes at night, Kate is the woman haunting his increasingly erotic dreams...

Contrary to popular belief, Kate is quite sure that reformed rakes do not make the best husbands—and Anthony Bridgerton is the most wicked rogue of them all. Kate is determined to protect her sister—but she fears her own heart is vulnerable. And when Anthony's lips touch hers, she's suddenly afraid she might not be able to resist the reprehensible rake herself...

Review

A new season is starting for our favorite debutants of London. Some new faces have appeared this season as well as the usual bunch who are still looking for love. Our favorite gossip columnist will be sure to keep everyone updated on the happenings around London. Even some favorites from the prior season will be sure to visit this season.

For Anthony Bridgerton as head of the family it's his time to settle down and have children. He's not after a love match but a suitable match that will provide children, a strong wife who will look after his family when he no longer is around. He's so sure that he's going to follow in his fathers footsteps so it's time to get this out of the way.

Kate and Edwina have both arrived for the new season in hopes of both finding matches in one season as money is tight. While the plan is for both of them to find husbands Kate has accepted the fact that she will be a spinster and getting a suitable match for Edwina is her only goal. After spending a little time among society Edwina is quickly chosen as the Diamond of the season and all the young men are flocking around her even Anthony.

I read the first one with my bestie and then we watched the Netflix show together. So of course we read the 2nd book together before the new season came out on Netflix. So far this is my favorite couple Kate and Anthony are just adorable as they build this relationship with playful banter back and forth. I loved the characters in installment you can't help loving how snarky Kate she's just so stubborn and he's equally as stubborn it just works so well together. I love the author conveys the story it's captivating from start to finish and hard to put down. Another beautiful installment and I can't wait to see what's in store for our favorite family in the future. I loved every moment of The Viscount Who Loved Me.
