Review

I received To Have & To Stalk in return for an honest review from Candi Kane PR.

I'm obsessed with Shay she's such a sweetheart you can't help cheering her on through he story. My bestie has the same illness and we've had so many spoon conversations over the years. She quickly stole my heart and has become one of my favorite characters you can't not love her. What can I say about Calder except he's swoon worthy and plus who doesn't love a morally grey guy.

I was hooked from the first page till the very last and ended up devouring it in just a few short hours. I loved the chemistry between Shay and Calder they have this sweet yet spicy romance. This is a darker stalker rom-com that I feel is on the lighter side of dark so everyone will enjoy it. We have a great cast of side characters that just enhance the story but it's Shay and Calder who stole the show.

This is my first book by the author and I'm addicted. She does a beautiful job creating a captivating story that I couldn't put down. I enjoyed every moment of the characters story and can't wait to get my hands on the next book in the series. I highly recommend if you are looking for a fun stalker romance that will have you swooning and giggling give this one a chance. I'm looking forward to exploring the authors backlist books as I'm a fan.

Review

I received The Secrets of Jane in return for an honest review from R&R Book tours.

Jane has been on the run most of her life hiding but now her village is on fire and a stranger with a mask has arrived in town determined not to leave without her. Soren is on a mission capture the auburn haired beauty at any cost. However, she's not what he expected and the spark is instant for both. The more he learns about her secrets the more he's not willing to give her up yet if at all.

I love Jane she's an awesome character she has her softer compassionate side but is always willing to risk it all for her friends and doesn't back down. Soren is swoon worthy for a morally gray guy who's been working for the council. The have this instant little spark that grows as the book progresses and starts to sizzle.  I love the relationship between Jane an Soren they have this steamy chemistry that just works.  I also like the few side characters we had the chance to get to know Bones and Kathleen.

I devoured The Secrets of Jane in just one afternoon I was captivated by Jane's story right from the start I had to know what was going to happen next. I love that it's written in a dual pov because I really liked getting to see what Soren was thinking and going through. I really loved that I was able to connect with both characters they are engaging and I just love them together.

This is my first book by the author and I'm obsessed with her storytelling style. The Secrets of Jane is a captivating whirlwind action packed adventure that keeps you drawn in till the very end. This is a cliffhanger but don't let that keep you from diving right in. It's a unique story that mixes magic and pirates in a dark gritty world. I loved The Secrets of Jane its a beautiful story that I can't wait for the sequel to get my happy ever after. In the meantime I'm going to work my way through the authors other books. Highly recommend.

I am my mother’s daughter. Princess, born to an angel. Who also happens to be The Queen of Hell, and Leader of the Legion, the group of fallen angels that divided Heaven.

But I am also my father’s progeny. Daughter of a daemon. Sired when his blood was half mortal after the Devil shot him and tried to claim my mother.

The spirit of Heaven, fires of Hell, and blood of mankind runs through my veins, along with the destiny to either rule or destroy those kingdoms. The crown I was born with is heavy. My powers, beyond that which created the universe. But neither have ever felt a burden thanks to Declan, Kai, and Luca.

For as long as I can remember it’s been the four of us. One mortal, two children of the Fallen, and an heir like no other. Bound by an unconventional childhood, we were best friends, and they were my world. But in the blink of an eye they were gone, cutting me out of their life as if I never mattered at all.

So I did what I had to do. I left them, and our shared world behind, and started a new one. Keeping their three traitorous hearts, far from my own.

It’s been three years since the last time we saw each other, and I haven’t forgotten or forgiven. It’s time to come home and get even. Angel, daemon, mortal…the blood of all three is in me. I am the heir of each bloodline. But when it comes to power, there is none greater than a heart scorned.

Christmas With The Band Excerpt

Jax pulls to the curb, and my heart beats so fast my vision goes swimmy at the edges. Oh shit, we’re already at his bandmates’ holiday party and I'm not ready yet.
I turn wide eyes to look at the over-decorated house. Somehow I never pictured Jera's family as inflatable Santa people.
“This isn't their place.” Jax tips my chin toward him, the callouses from his frets soothing against my skin. “Ava, I'd rather turn around right now than take you someplace where you won't be comfortable. Especially not on Christmas Eve. Just say the word and we'll go back to my condo.” He smiles, the tilt of it all wicked promise though his sky-colored eyes are whisper gentle: my soft place to land, always. “I'll even Photoshop Justin Bieber's head onto some pictures of chipmunks, the way you like.”
I laugh in spite of myself. “Okay, as awesome as that sounds, I'm not taking you away from your band family at Christmas.”
“Oh, great! Let's get going, then.” Jax reaches for the gearshift and my stomach drops out through the floorboards of the car. I stop his hand and my eyes guiltily collide with his knowing ones. I just walked right into that bluff, damn it.
“Okay, you're right. This was a terrible idea. Why don't I just drop you off, I'll go hide in your beautiful condo, and we can meet up after?” My heartbeat is like a rabid butterfly trying to escape my ribcage. Christ, I'm being such a coward right now.
It's not like I haven't been living knuckle to knuckle with these people for most of the year. It's just...that was our concert tour. This is their town.
It's Jax's real life, and I haven't claimed my place in it.
He starts to speak just as I say, “No, screw it. We're going. We're going together and it will be fun and festive, so help me God, or I will cut a bitch.”

As an audiobook narrator, Clementine Cox has no trouble mastering the voices of space aliens, elven warriors, or even demon-possessed cats. But the moment she tries her hand at an erotic romance, she’s stumped. With her deadline looming, she books a week at a secluded cabin to restore her inner muse, telling her loving-but-overbearing family it’s a romantic getaway with her not-so-existent new boyfriend to keep them from worrying. All he has to do is enjoy the sunshine, play nice with her family, and keep his hands to himself for the week.

REAL KIND OF LOVE Excerpt

With a deep breath, she opened her eyes to see Jake standing in front of her with his arms crossed. She swallowed the bile rising in her throat, reminding herself that if mortification could actually kill, she’d have been a pile of ashes by now.
“Tomorrow?”
“Thanks for playing along. For the record, you die of Ebola tonight. Or dysentery. Whichever one works faster.”
“Clem.” He tilted his head toward her, voice deepening to a low growl. “Why do your sisters think we’re dating?”
“I kind of told them I was going on a romantic getaway this week so they wouldn’t tag along on my vacation. Except instead of giving me space, they booked the cabin right next door and now I need you to use that hammer to build me a tiny little coffin while I curl up and die.”
“Wait a second,” Julia said from the dining room doorway with Eli standing next to her, grinning. “You lied to your family about having a boyfriend and now they think Jake is coming with you on vacation tomorrow?”
“Of course you and Eli overheard,” she mumbled. “I know it was a terrible idea but—”
“It’s a great idea!”
Clem wiped her clammy palms against the ugly pair of basketball shorts she was still wearing and tried to fathom the reason for Julia’s wide grin. “Sure, if you think watching me dig myself into a deep hole with no escape is fun.”
“You don’t need an escape. You need Jake.”
“What?” Her and Jake’s gazes met like a head-on collision.
Eli rubbed his palms together. “I don’t know what devious idea is churning in your brain, Sis, but I have a feeling it’s going to be good.”
“It’s simple. I need Jake to get out of my hair for the next week before he micromanages the wedding I’ve been planning to death, and you need a fake boyfriend. It’s perfect.”
It would be perfect, the devil on Clem’s shoulder whispered. Her family was so desperate to see her in a relationship, they’d probably actually give her some space this week. Maybe even enough that she could focus on the recording she needed to turn over to the publisher two weeks from now.
But it was a ridiculous idea. There was no way Jake would go for it. He had a business. A life. A fiancée. Crap. “You can’t be serious?”
“Sorry, man,” Eli said, raising his palms. “My vote’s with Julia. We outnumber you.”
Jake’s jaw clenched so hard, Clem could see the pulse point ticking in his neck. Her heart thumped against her chest as she waited for him to laugh at her. Or shake his head in disgust. Because there was no way he would actually go through with this.
She braced herself for rejection as he turned toward her, expression grim. “I’m game if you are.”
Holy shit.

“I think it's Morgan's turn. Let's get started without her. Go ahead and list Pee-Wee Herman and Bart Simpson as two of the guys she's gonna marry." Ruby says excitedly.
"And why are we playing this again? Are we going to make those paper fortune tellers next?" Morgan asks as she plops down beside me on the couch.
"Oh, I love those," I add.
"We are playing this because watching movies and playing video games are all we ever do these days. I thought some margaritas and MASH would be fun." Ruby defends.
"Fair enough. But might I point out, that you are the only one really playing video games in your downtime? It doesn't count for Bern since that's what she does for a living. So...," Morgan trails off as she goes back to reading her texts.
She's right though. Video games have been thrown into our lives ever since Dex came along. He is a professional video gamer, so our little group - Morgan, Ruby, and I - has kind of been taken into Dex's group. Well, more like his team. He's on a team with several other players, Bernie being one of them so, video games are now a very prevalent fixture in our lives.
I don't mind. I used to love playing video games when I was younger. But, I stopped playing them the day my family uprooted our lives and moved to a new state. I pretty much left my life, and those in it, back in Wisconsin. A shiver shoots down my spine at the thought of that mess.
Along with Dex, my best friend from my old life, Simon, came crashing back into my new life. I hadn't thought about Simon in years. Mostly because I taught myself years ago not to. It hurt too much. But now, he's here. He's always around. Things are awkward. I mean, like he-hates-me awkward. I can feel it. I can see it in his face. I'd say I could see it in his eyes, but he'd have to make eye contact with me first.
Redirecting my thoughts, I realize that I'm being watched intently by Ruby. She's on to me. These days, I feel like she is always watching me, waiting for the perfect moment to ask me about Simon. I have this gut feeling that she, and probably Link, have been plotting and planning on how they are going to figure out what the hell is going on with Simon and me.
I've done a swell job of keeping the real history of Simon and Gia at bay. I've told them the basics. He was my friend, we had to move abruptly for family reasons, and we lost touch. The girls questioned how that would have caused the iciness Simon saves for just me, and I let on that we may have been more than just friends and I had let the communication between us drop.
It's the truth. More or less.
Fortunately, they've been so consumed with why after months of coldness between us, they haven't asked why we had to move. I consider that another bullet dodged. For the moment. Simon is the only one who knows why. He knows everything, and I've just got to hope that he will keep it to himself because if he doesn't people are gonna find out I'm really not the cool, easy-going, caring Gia everyone thinks I am.
