Cassis has spent time at the hands of the Queen of the hellhounds as a slave due to her step mom. However, when she reached maturity as a spider venin with a poison bite she made her escape. Now that she’s free she’s going back to save her friend who’s still in the hands of the Queen. With the help of her friend Keri who’s a scorpion venin the duo infiltrate her lair and make it out with Cassis friend a snake venin who’s just coming into her own. 

Her landlord and friend Charlie’s sister has gone missing and Cassis is just the person to go into the supernatural world to rescue the missing Fairy. Determined to find her she heads to the Circus to speak with a shifter who last saw Finley. Little did Cassis know when she arrived at the Cirus that Jack would have two very attractive traits werewolf and musician. With the help of an alpha werewolf, a scorpion Venin and a little luck Cassis may just find Finley before it’s too late. 

I like Cassis she’s a girl with a good heart who’s a defender of the innocent and looks good doing it. I love that she’s not your typical supernatural creature as a spider Venin she has some unique magical abilities besides a deadly bite. I like Jack he may just be what she needs and who doesn’t love a hunky attractive alpha male. The chemistry between these two is sizzling and can’t wait to see how it’s going to play out. 

I knew the moment I saw it that I had to read Sweet Venom the cover is stunning and instantly captured my attention. Plus it’s not every day you see a spider hero as most people dislike them so much or even a scorpion. I think Cassis and Keri are both unique bad-ass heroines who totally kick ass in a fight and I love them. The story while it’s not new is very unique it’s filled with supernatural beings that we are familiar with as well as new ones. This isn’t my first book by the author, and it doesn’t disappoint a captivating fast-paced fantasy that was hard to put down. I’m anxiously waiting for the next one as I enjoyed this one so much. I highly recommend checking out this author’s books everyone has been amazing.

Winter (Winnie) has been on the streets since she left her foster home, relying on herself for years. She’s captured the attention of a wealthy stranger who wants to offer her a job and chance to start a new life. However, Thaddeus is an eccentric man who has a few odd requests for Winnie that he requests she does including cooking and cleaning. 

The more time that she spends with Thad the more she starts to question his motives, after all, she looks similar to his deceased wife and even wants her to dress like she used to. What happens when the killers that have been moving across the country arrive at the doorstep while Thaddeus is away. How will Winnie handling learning his true motives and that her life is in danger by something she didn’t even know existed?

I like Winnie she an interesting character who is willing to take a chance risk it all on the hopes of being able to start a new life. I like how she and Thad have a connection and even though he’s keeping secrets he shows her part of himself. I think Thad work’s he’s a good guy with good intentions even if he is using Winnie she is benefiting from her time with him. 

I’ve had this one on my kindle for a while but I’m not sure why I never gave it a chance before as I’m a huge shifter fan. The concept of the vampires is unique they have some typical vampire traits as well as a little different. This isn’t your typical vampire romance instead we have a sweet romance tossed in with supernatural bad guys and secrets that could change it all. I like the characters it was easy to connect with Winnie as well as Thad. This is my first novel by the author so I was a little unsure but I found his storytelling captivating. I’m looking forward to finishing the series because I have to know how it’s going to play out. A perfect mix of mystery, horror, and just enough romance to leave you wanting more.

Robin dreams of spending her vacation with her friends but the only way that is going to happen is if she can raise the money for the trip. For a smart high school senior that shouldn't be too hard, all she has to do is find an after school job. As luck would have it the perfect job just happens to land in her lap taking inventory of old books for an eccentric old man. 

However, something is looming in the shadows, the new girl is scared that her dead mother is trying to get her to join her and her brother is determined to drive Robin crazy. When Robin start's to believe that maybe something outside the normal is happening she enlists her a friend from school to help but will it be too late as she uncovers the truth about Manorwood?

It’s been many years since I’ve read a Richie Tankersley Cusick novel. She was one of my favorite teen authors, and I even remember rushing home from the bookstore to dive into this one. I like the concept it’s your typical teenage point horror thriller with just enough action to keep you guessing till the very end. The characters are great I felt I was really able to connect with Robin. I liked the twist at the end I honestly didn’t see it coming but it works. A quick fast paced story that captures the heart as well as the imagination. I can’t wait to re-read more of her books as I enjoyed this one so much.

Review

However, aside from proving she has what it takes to become Queen Ari needs to find out who killed the Red Queen as well as who attacked the heirs. It’s while the summit is going on that they learn the bear shifters also sustained similar attacks, but the bears have an idea who attacked them. 

After a series of tasks, Ari comes out the winner becoming the next queen who will control the mecca and save her people. At her coronation the bear King proves that instead of being an enemy, he will a powerful ally, doesn’t hurt that Ari finds him as attractive as he does her. Together with the help of her new ally the two powerful shifters set out working together to figure out what is looming in the shadows. Will working with the bear King unite the two once-warring shifters? Will Ari and Kade be able to deny the connection they feel for each other? What is really looming in the swirling water? 

I adore Ari she’s a strong leader willing to lead instead of being in the back of the battle so when the time comes for her to fight she does just that and protects those she loves. I like Kade a lot for her a potential relationship goes against everything she’s been taught but maybe now as Queen, she can make some changes. Ari has a close-knit group of friends from her advisor, her magic bound, as well as her familiar and loyal guards. I’ve got high hopes for Ari and Kade as the series progress’s I’m rooting for them. 

I’ve had my eye on this one since I first caught a glimpse of the cover I knew I had to read it. I’m a huge fan of shifter novels so I knew Queen’s Heir was a must that I had to read right away and it doesn’t disappoint if anything it exceeds my expectations. While the concept is very urban fantasy with shifters that’s where the similarities end a unique take on my favorite concept. The authors did a beautiful job weaving a captivating story from start to finish that I could really sink my teeth into. The characters are perfectly balanced easy to connect with and you can’t help cheering them on as I did. A perfect blend of world, action, story and just a smidge of romance to leave you wanting more. My only complaint is that I have to wait for the next one as this one was impossible to put down. I’ve only read a few books by one of the authors before but I can’t wait to check out their other books as I loved this one so much. A beautiful cover to match a beautiful story that I highly recommend for fans of shifters and fantasy.

Review

Winter hasn’t found her mate it’s taken her far longer than most female werewolves so it’s been hinted at that she might be unwanted. Her father is determined to find her mate dragging her along with his work claiming she was an apprentice so that she could encounter more men. Taking a risk he sends out her picture to a wolf that may just be the one for Winter. Only to find out he was right her mate is the alpha of a little pack in New York. 

After a whirlwind encounter with Sterling who is clearly Winters destined mate. Her father sends her off the next day without even setting the bride price which is unheard of. Forced into a new world one that Winter knows nothing about she finds herself settling in with the SnowFang pack. However, New York isn’t the safest city she has to worry about the wanderers who have her scent and want to claim her for their own. As if she doesn’t have enough to worry about with social gatherings her father has decided that it’s time to claim the bride price which is an unheard of request. 

I love Winter she’s a country girl tossed into the high society world but she handles it will even making the newspaper. I found her character intriguing intelligent strong and smart perfect to be a Luna. I like Sterling he’s not the wolf her father would have picked but he complements her perfectly. I love the chemistry between the two it works so well they just have this mate’s thing figured out right from the start. I also really like the supporting character the remaining members of the pack it was interesting seeing your not typical werewolves. 

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I picked up The ShadowFang Bride other than it is a shifter story which is one of my favorite genres. The concept while it is werewolves the story is unique captivating and sparked my imagination. The characters are easy to connect with it’s hard to not fall in love with Winter and Sterling as well as their little pack. The characters don’t fit your typical alpha werewolves which is what I enjoyed so much. The story is beautifully written the author has created an exciting new world for us to fall in love with. This is my first novel by the author but it won’t be my last as I loved her storytelling. I loved every moment of The SnowFang Bride and can’t wait to get my hands on the next one.

Review

I received Dollars in return for an honest review from the author. 

Pim’s night was anything but pleasant but there is a white light in the tunnel as she no longer is at the hands of Master A instead she has a new Master. Pim has arrived on the deck of the Phantom to a new life with a whole new set of rules. Elder never intended to steal Pim from her master but upon returning to the house he just couldn’t leave her behind and when he saw what was happening to her he took matters into his own hands. Now he’s got a girl who’s broken living on his boat that he can’t decide what to do with but he’s not willing to let her go. 

As Pim heals from her injuries aboard the ship she get’s to see more of the man who stole her, learning more about him with each day. He hasn’t told her what his plans for her are beside learning all her secrets, leaving Pim feeling unsure and nervous about her future. As the two spend time aboard the ship they can’t deny the attraction for each other but she has issues that are deeper than just the injuries and he has the past that won’t let him move on just yet. Together they may find what they both need each other if he can let go, and she can learn to trust that he don’t want to hurt her. 

I love Pim she’s been through hell but it hasn’t broken her if anything it’s made her stronger, and while she may be broken she’s going to never be the girl she was before being taken. I wasn’t sure about Elder at first but when he went back to get Pim I started to cheer him on. While he may have his own issues she may just be the what it takes to fix his heart and he hers. I like the chemistry between the two when she doesn’t have her flashbacks and he isn’t being guarded it just works well. 

I’ve been anxiously waiting to get my hands on Dollars after the intense ending of Pennies. The story continues right after Pennies has ended telling the story of Pim’s time with Elder. I love the characters they are easy to connect with and the more I learn the more I love them both. Dollars is an emotional roller coaster that captures the heart as well as the imagination right from the start. This is a book that pulled me out of my comfort zone, I tend to avoid books that have taboo subjects but I can’t seem to get enough of this series. The whole concept of the book is fascinating, it’s one that I have a hard time putting down even though it’s not my typical read. The author has done a beautiful job telling an emotional story, her storytelling just flows and I love it. I can’t wait to get my hands on the next one. One of my new favorite authors and series. Highly recommend because it’s just so stunning even if it is one of those books that you don’t normally read it’s worth giving the series a try.

Review

Natalie doesn’t go out much and isn’t into socializing much, she’s in love with the man in her favorite book Magical Acts. While taking a little break she gets a little chance to read and has an encounter with a blonde stranger who is gone just as fast. Deciding to take a risk Natalie ventures into a magic shop which has a key that captures her eye, and when she get’s a deal she has to buy the key. Little did she know that when she takes the key home it would lead her into the fantasy world of her favorite book. will Natalie be able to save her mage before time runs out?

I like Natalie she’s a sweet girl with a good heart who just loves her book boyfriend which I’m sure a lot of us will be able to relate too. I also like Auron he’s equally as sweet who didn’t know the woman he thought he was in love with was really an evil witch who wants to get revenge against his father who was supposed to marry her. Thankfully someone was looking out for Auron and helped him find someone to break the curse she just isn’t from his world. 

I admit the cover is what captured my attention, so I had to give it a shot. I enjoyed the sweet yet steamy romance between Natalie and Auron it’s unique and fun to see a reader get a happy ever after with her man from her favorite book. I’m a little confused by reading the synopsis and feel like I missed something because this story is only about Natalie and Auron, and I have a feeling that another story exists somewhere. While the book starts off with a steamy scene it’s actually a little back story which helps understand what’s happened to our hero. I enjoyed the story it was a little short and I did feel the steamy moments could be overwhelming. This is my first book by the author and I’m looking forward to checking out her other books.

Review

I received Full Moons and Mistletoe in return for an honest review from the author. Four years ago Alexandra had a fling that changed her life forever, giving her a beautiful son. However, as he’s gotten older it’s become clear that he’s taking after his father which will force Alex to seek him out. Even thought he’s a drifter she found out how to find him thanks to her son being affected by the moon she was able to track down that he’s a wolf shifter. With the upcoming moon, Alex sets off to find the man she left four years earlier but finds more than she bargained for because Ryder just happens to have been looking for her. 

I like Alex she’s on her own but has done what she can and worked hard to provide a safe home for her son. She has issues with men so when Ryder tells her he wants to be with her she has issues trusting. However, he’s determined to prove to her that she wants him just as much as he wants her and it’s not just for a fling but forever. I love them chemistry between the pair they just work and Ryder is just the guy to sweep her off her feet if only she will let him. 

I couldn’t wait to dive into another shifter story by Alyssa Rose Ivy she’s one of my favorite storytellers. I have some really high expectations when it comes to her stories and Full Moons and Mistletoe doesn’t disappoint. A beautiful woven story that captures the heart as well as the imagination with enchanting characters that you can’t help falling in love with. I admit I’m curious how these shifters will fit in with her existing world of if we will have a whole new world, either way, I’m hooked. The characters are easy to connect with I felt like Alex and I have a lot in common and I even had to send my husband a screen shot of the book because they had a very familiar conversation. I loved every moment of the book it’s a quick story that is perfect for the holiday season. Loved every moment of it and can’t wait to see what comes next.

Review

Annie was a fan of the walking dead and prepared for the time when the walking dead weren’t just on tv anymore thankfully she is safe inside her little fortress in the basement. After two years she now forced to return to the surface in hopes of re-stocking her supplies, as she’s run out of batteries. On her first encounter outside in two years she meet’s a guy who may just be what she needs. 

I’ve been craving a little post apocalypse romance and Desperate Measures doesn’t disappoint at all. I like Annie a lot she’s takes planning to a whole new level, she’s even planned for more than just survive like entertainment to pass the days away. I enjoyed the story it was a quick paced story that I found hard to put down. The concept is interesting I can’t imagine being alone for 2 years with just my dog in a basement. The characters are great easy to connect with. I hope this isn’t the last we see of Annie and Beck my fingers are crossed for more. This is my first book by the author but I plan to check out her other books. My only complaint was I wanted more it was to short, the story is fun and I enjoyed it a lot.

Arianna’s life is tough but she’s worked hard to get where she is and turning 18 isn’t going to change that. At least she didn’t expect it to change overnight but now her mother has fallen into a coma and looks to be going downhill quickly. A handsome stranger shows up just in the nick of time with an offer she can’t refuse but she has to sign over her soul and live in hell for eternity. It sounds like a tough choice but her mom is all she has next to her bestie so she willing signs her soul over to save her mom. Thus sending her into hell where she will have to choose a mate from one of the seven princes. 

Ari didn’t know what to expect after stepping through the magic mirror into her new home but she’s shocked to see it isn’t fire and brimstone like she’s assumed. While her future may be sealed she still has to choose between the seven princes each with their own kind of curse one for each of the deadly sins. Her handsome stranger turns out to be the prince of Pride. Every month Ari will spend it with each prince till she’s had a chance to get to know them all, and when she’s done she will be forced to choose her mate. Things aren’t going to be easy because someone is determined to get their hands on her but at least she has the prince of war on her side but even he can’t keep her safe from what the future holds. 

I love Ari she’s such a sweetheart, even though she's only just become a princess she doesn’t let it change her. She’s determined to learn as much as she can about her new home, the land and the people aren’t anything she’s seen before. I love Fen he’s the prince of war but he’s my favorite of the prince's even though he didn’t want to be one of Ari’s suitors. I like the chemistry between the two and I don’t know how we will survive the next bunch of months as she spends her time with the other guys. 

I’ve had this one since it came out sitting on my kindle since it came out but I never got around to reading it. I’ve been in a funk so I figured now was the time to give it a shot and check it out, as I’ve been hearing such great things. I love the concept for Vampire Girl it’s a whole new twist on vampire and I found it fascinating. I found myself having a hard time putting it down, it’s a captivating story filled with action, mystery, and just enough romance. I enjoyed the author’s writing style the story flows from start to finish and is beautifully done. I loved every moment of Vampire Girl and look forward to continuing the series. I found a new favorite author and can’t wait to check out their other books.

Review

Shark is the 2nd installment in the Cassidy Hail series. Starting right after the end of the first book Cassidy has her first encounter with one of the rulers who’s in charge of Karma Inc. Unlike her fellow employee’s she can see right through her glamor which makes her different from the others. Cassidy has another case which will send her into a corporate office after a man who’s using the company as his own personal piggy bank to fund his rich lifestyle. Can Cassidy deliver the Karma he deserves? What about solving her own case? Or the dangerous Drake who might be getting closer to finding out her secret? 

I like Cassidy she’s been dropped into a world force to work for her life that she lived. Only she doesn’t remember what happened and why her short life was ended so quickly. She’s not a bad person she just may not have been the best person she could. However, she’s determined to figure out what happened. I like the potential connection to Drake the more we see him the more I like him plus he clearly knows she’s more than just a girl. I’m curious to see how this will play out. 

I loved Karma Inc the first installment and Shark doesn’t disappoint it’s a whirlwind adventure as Cassidy navigates a corporate office coming into contact with her past which will leave her questioning who is responsible for her murder. I love the concept for Karma Inc it’s a unique concept that captures the heart as well as the imagination. I love the idea that someone who deserves a little Karma for the life they live actually get’s some bad luck. The Karma inc series has become one of my favorite series because it leaves me wondering what if. I’m curious to see how it will play out. I can’t wait to get my hands on the next one.

Blood+ is set after the movie where Saya our Chiropterans slayer from the film has amnesia and doesn’t recall what happened. She’s been living with a human family that she accepts as her own, but things aren’t always easy when you aren’t just a normal girl. When Chiropterans start to show up Saya will have to face the reality of who she really is and what her destiny is but at least she doesn’t have to face it alone. With the support of the Red Shield Saya will set off on an action-packed adventure to stop the rising threat of the Chiropterans before it’s too late and save all of humanity. 

I find Saya to be an interesting character a supernatural vampire slayer who happens to not remember that she’s a vampire slayer but the only one who can stop them. I like her as a character but her life living as a human seems to be getting in the way of her accepting her true fate stopping the Chiropterans. The Red shield and Saya are teamed up to stop the Chiropteran threat but she hasn’t stepped away from her human family yet either. Instead of keeping them close so that her younger brother ends up kidnapped by one of the chevaliers of Diva. We’ve also gotten to see a little more of Hagi who is the Chevalier of Saya. 

It’s been years since I saw the anime or movie and decided now that I’ve been reading manga that this one had to be on the list. While the concept is similar to the anime the story has slight differences which leave you guessing how it will play out. The artwork is great it’s matches the anime making it easy to be sucked into the story. I really like the characters in the Blood+ manga each character has a story that revolves around Saya in one form or another. I’m curious to finish the series.
