Happy Release Day & Review: The Wildborn

Title - The Wildborn
Author - Perri Torani
Series - Starborn #1
Genre -  Sci-Fi Aliens Romance
Format - eArc
From - The Nerd Family

Synopsis

To walk the path of a morazir, I will exist in three states of being: Untouched. Untaken. Unconquered.

Airik, a battle-scarred warrior serving the cruel intergalactic empire of the Veynari, craves silence from the nightmares tormenting his mind. But while on post to decommission a failed experiment of a planet, a rogue human spacecraft crashes, and a reckless decision leaves him stranded—entangled with a woman he never should have saved.

Nora wakes light-years from Earth, broken in body and spirit, at the mercy of an alien soldier who refuses to let her die. Devastatingly beautiful, terrifyingly competent, and bound by a warrior’s oath that permits touch only to destroy, he’s the reluctant guardian angel she neither wants nor believes she deserves.

Trapped together, they’re forced to navigate a brutal landscape, vicious beasts, and the deadly remnants of an abandoned world. Duty demands Airik’s cold indifference. Yet Nora sparks something deliciously alive—and entirely forbidden—within him. What begins as necessity ignites a primal hunger: scorching, consuming, and impossible to resist.

But even if they survive, the Veynari—ever present and ruthless—won’t allow its warriors weakness like love. For Airik and Nora to be together, they must risk everything.

The Wildborn is a steamy, high-stakes sci-fi romance featuring forced proximity with an emotionally repressed alien protector who falls hard. Perfect for fans of Zoey Draven’s immersive world-building, the dark emotional complexities of Victoria Aveline’s Ruling Sikthand, and the lyrical storytelling of Grace Draven.

Review

I received Wildborn in return for an honest review from The Nerd Fam. I can admit it I was drawn in by the cover alone and other then alien romance I had no idea what I was getting into. Airik and Nora are perfect together. She's on the run and he's on his way to destroy a planet. When fate takes a hand and tosses her in his path and all the plans change.

I love Nora she's such a sweetheart you can't help connecting with her and when she finds Lucky I knew she was my kind of girl. Airik is everything you in a broody alien who rides in to save the day. They have this sweet connection that turns spicy and hard to deny.

I loved the world building the author has paid so much attention to details and created a world that captured my attention. I'm a huge alien romance fan and just look at the cover Airik is just as swoonworthy on the cover as he is in the book. I just loved and he's on my bookfriend list for sure. The author has done a beautiful job creating a story that a little place in my heart. This is her debut book and I think she nailed it. I can't wait to get my hands on the next one. Highly recommend if you enjoy an alien romance.

Happy Release Day & Review: When Dealing With Dragons

Title -
When Dealing With Dragons
Author - Dana Swift
Series - Standalone
Genre -  Romantasy
Format - eArc
From - Over The River PR

Synopsis

Bonding with dragons gave humans magic to craft metal—now, two school rivals have to work together to protect a priceless secret, all while fighting their growing attraction to each other, from Dana Swift, author of Cast in Firelight.

Copper-crafter Farren Walsh is set on following in her father's footsteps to become a dragon veterinarian. The only thing more powerful than her love for these magnificent creatures is her hate for those who exploit them for their precious metal. That includes her classmate, an arrogant dragon racer named James Murphy, whose silver-crafting family represents the worst of human greed and dragon abuse—plus, he's the biggest competition for the college scholarship she desperately needs.

When James strongarms his way into interning at her family's dragon sanctuary for the summer, it puts everything at risk. Farren isn't just the plain copper-crafter she seems. She's hiding a secret that could not only change her life, but their society as a whole. And James, trying to find refuge from his controlling father, harbors his own secret, years-long crush on Farren. Hating James might be harder than she thought, but Farren can't risk getting too close: the fate of an endangered species is at stake.

When Dealing with Dragons is a delightful young adult dual-POV romantasy about cross-class romance, finding family, and creating a better world for creatures big and small.

Review

I received When Dealing With Dragons from Wednesday Books in return for an honest review.

Farren just wants to get the scholarship so that she can be just like her dad a veterinarian for dragons. She didn't plan to save her rival and end up with him spending his recovery at her home putting them potentially at risk. However, the more time she spends with James the more she learns she may have judged him but when he learns her secret will he be able to keep it.

I loved Farren she's a sweetheart who just wants to save the dragons and I really felt like I could connect with her. James is the perfect guy to show up at her door, he's had a crush forever and now he has the chance to win her over. They have this sweet romance that blooms as the story progresses. This is a YA romance so it's a fantasy story with just the right balance of romance.

This is my first book by the author and I'm obsessed I ended up devouring it in just a single reading session in one afternoon. The author has done a beautiful job creating a captivating story that sparked my imagination and stole my heart. I found the entire story to be refreshing take on the dragon rider concept and I loved it. I loved every moment of it and can't wait to read her other books. Highly recommend if you enjoy YA dragon fantasy.

Title - Masked Secrets
Author - J.D. Carothers
Series - Prequel to the Love Over Murder Series
Genre - Contemporary Romance
Format - eArc
From - Over The River PR

Synopsis

He’s a billionaire living for fun, fighting expectations, and avoiding his future. She’s an alluring, intelligent, career-focused woman. Throw in a masquerade ball, a steamy, encounter, and a villain. It’s a recipe for fireworks.

Brooke

It all starts when the power goes out, leaving me trapped in a dark elevator.

Just when the walls are closing in and panic starts to take over, a sexy stranger comes to my rescue.

His deep voice, yummy British accent, warm shoulder to lean on, and flask of expensive whiskey is just what I need.

Embarrassment aside, what happened shouldn’t matter. I’ll never see him again. That’s good because I’m no longer the adventurous risk-taker I was in college. Now, I’m a rule-following professional—at least that’s what I tell myself.

Stuart

Her wavy, auburn hair, sparkling emerald eyes, and perfect curves mesmerize me.

When she panics, my instinct is to protect her. That is until she snuggles against me and sparks fly, making me want much, much more.

I regret not getting her mobile number. It shouldn’t bother me. I’m not looking for a relationship. And she doesn’t seem like the type for a fling.

To my surprise, she turns up unexpectedly. I’m relieved and thrilled. But she pushes me away.

Welcome to the fast-paced Prequel for the Love Over Murder series. While the Prequel is shorter than the other books in the series, it's a standalone story featuring one couple's journey to their happily-ever-after. Each of the other books in the series is also a standalone book featuring a couple's journey to their guaranteed H.E.A. The series is especially for lovers of swoony moments intertwined with a light twist of suspense.

He's hoping to find her but fate takes a hand and sends her right into his meeting the next morning and she's assigned to work with him for the time he's in town.

Synopsis

A young author becomes the object of a fan’s desire—and rage—in the gripping thriller by the #1 New York Times-bestselling author of Hidden Nature.

He showed up at Arden Bowie’s debut author appearance with a copy of her novel and an eager smile. He showered her with compliments and got her autograph. Then he came to her next event. And the one after that.

But while she learns to thrive, Dustin remains his delusional, twisted self, as fixated as ever and now seething with anger. He still believes Arden's purpose on earth is to serve and please him. And his job is to protect her. But who will protect her from him?

Review

I received The Final Target in return for an honest review from the publisher St. Martin Press.

Arden is a new author enjoying book signings when a overly excited fan shows up attempting to gain more than her signature. She's not the social type but for her book she's willing to try and joins him for a quick coffee. The unwanted attention quickly turns into an obsession and Arden finds herself forced to start over after brutal attacked. Now starting over across the country she's learning to live again and even meets Gideon. Things are finally look up till the past comes back to haunt her.

I loved Arden she refused to be a victim and learned to protect herself even got a dog. She's such a great characters I was able to connect with her right from the start. I think we all have a bit of introvert in us as I know I do. This is a thriller with romance elements and I think her love interest was perfect for her. Plus he's building her a bookshelves for her library, and we all need custom bookshelves with a ladder one day.

I ended up devouring the story in just one afternoon as I was hooked right from the start. The characters are fantastic and the story kept me captivated from start to finish. I'll admit I've been reading the authors books since I was a kid as my mom was a huge fan so I had some high expectations and they were exceeded. I loved the story and I loved the characters. It's aa perfect balance or romance to thriller and I'm here for it. I love a good mystery that keeps me on my toes till the very end and this one did just that. Highly recommend if you enjoy a thriller with some romance mixed in. I loved it!!! I can't wait to read her next book she's one of my autobuy authors you could say I'm an obsessed fan.

My Review

I received Trust in return for an honest review from the author.

This is the fifth and final installment in the Sinners and Saints series. Trust is one of my most anticipated reads of 2026 I've been excitedly waiting for this story. Each book in this series is a standalone but all interconnected. This is the story of Knox our last guy in the friend group and Harper who's just moved to town. I've been waiting since the beginning to learn Knox's story and it doesn't disappoint.

I've loved all the couples through the series but Knox and Harper are hands down my new favorite. I feel like I say that every time but I really enjoyed their story so much. Honestly I love them all every character has been easy to connect with and I can't help falling in love with them. This is a whirlwind action packed romance that kept me on the end of my seat till the very last page.

I devoured Trust in just a single reading session I couldn't put it down and was hooked from the very first page. The author has done a beautiful job creating a captivating story that stole a place in my heart. I'm so sad to see the series end as I just wasn't ready to say goodbye yet. I've loved all the authors books she's one of my all time favorites. I'm working my way through her back list and have loved every book I've read. I'm having a little book hangover after finishing the final book in my favorite series.
