The Sunday Post

The Sunday Post
Hosted by:

The Sunday post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer~ It's a chance to share new ~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

It's Sunday Funday

I can't believe it's already Sunday. The week has whirlwind by busy which seems to be the trend this year.

The weather has been beautiful which isn't shocking considering Northern California has decided to do spring early. I love the 70's days but I'm not sure if I'm ready yet to be wearing shorts. It still makes me nervous that we will be having a drought and super hot summer.

We had Valentines this past week but we don't celebrate it like everyone does. We actually skip it because we spoil each other every and show our love every day. My husband loves to bring me books, chocolate, coffee, and wine. He knows the way to my heart is not with roses as they die and it's just sad. He's equally easy, sports, movies and video games.

I didn't get to read as much as I would have liked but with the new week, I'm hopeful. I have a feeling that I've been in a little bit of a reading slump but I hope to get out of it this week. I had a few I had intended to read but haven't yet. Hopefully today I can get some reading done.

Book Club
So I joined an online book club super excited about it. Sadly it didn't work out it became apparent that the creator felt threatened I think by the fact that I have a blog also and I'm super active on social media. (She doesn't have a blog but an online journal, not even the same thing.) We started with a Facebook group chat but as I was able to join in more she ended up kicking me from the group chat and claiming she deleted every one. Next, we had to read the first 5 chapters of a book which I rushed to do on Valentine's day. Only to get invited to a group chat that has been going for weeks and yet she only added me briefly before removing me again. I told her to remove me from the group clearly she has issues with me. Of course, she made excuses but honestly too much drama.

So I miss the bookish conversation it while brief was fun having a facebook message chat to talk all about books. Thinking of starting a facebook chat to talk about books nothing serious. What are you reading? Would you like to buddy read this book? Maybe we would all read together. If you're interested let me know. Not a big group but maybe form some new friendships. Of course, it would be done in the form of facebook message chat but I think that's why it had the appeal.

  2. How sad they kicked you out of the group but it did sound like a lot of Drama. I wish we had a book club around here. It would be nice to hang and chat about books.

We don't celebrate Valentine's day either, we stayed home with the kids and my husband got me chocolate covered strawberries because he know I love them but he has been warned a few times not to get me anything.

I hope you have an awesome week, Mandy! Happy Reading! ox

  3. Oh wow. That is some shit right there. I can't believe someone would actually do that. What is she, twelve? While I'm a lil outraged for you, it sounds like it's a good thing in the end. You definitely don't need that kind of drama or stress in your life.

  4. I can't believe that author did that to you. At least you got out of the group. I don't think I would want to deal with an author like that. Hope you have a lovely week!

  5. I don’t do much for Valentine’s Day, either. I just eat a lot of chocolate. Sorry you had to deal with book club drama. The behavior of some people is baffling. Have a great week!

  6. I read Everyday and want to see the movie. It sucks that happened with the book club and that just makes no sense that they would behave that way but less drama you have to deal with in the end. I hope you have a great week!
