The Sunday Post

The Sunday Post
Hosted by:

The Sunday post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer~ It's a chance to share new ~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

It was a great week. Not a lot of reading sadly but I was really productive. Kids are back in school for the new week but we have spring break for my little the following week. Husband is also back to work. I'm looking forward to a nice quiet week and lots of reading.

Currently 50 of 250 and 17 books behind which keeps growing.
So sad because for so long I was ahead only a few weeks ago. Hopefully, I can catch up this week.

Fun posts you may have missed at TRD this week.

Reviews
Book Review: Dark Side of the Moon

New Books that I added to my shelves this week.

I received The Darkest Corner by Lillana Hart for review from the publisher Pocket Books

A few eBooks I'll save for next week.
Plus a bunch of freebies to many to mention.

Crafty projects & Baking/cooking & Gardening.

I was able to sew this week so I made a news Jaws bag, plus a couple of cute coffee cup bags. I've got a bunch more sewing on my plans, and can't wait to see how they turn out. I'm planning to pull out the resin this week.

I picked up a couple of new plants for my growing little garden. I've added a blueberry bush and a couple of strawberries this week. The blueberry is so loaded with blooms can't wait to start picking berries. I decided to do strawberries for smoothies in the morning.

I made two kinds of brownies this week. The first batch is brownies topped with vanilla buttercream and a little shaved dark chocolate. I like to refer to them as my cake brownies since they are frosted. The 2nd batch is just a simple chocolate topped with peanut butter cups that melted. Both turned out great and everyone loved them. I was super mean and left them with other people so I didn't have to bring them home.

My dad wrote a book and this week I'll be beta reading it. I'm super excited and just a few pages in but I like it and can't wait to see how it turns out.

Fitness
I did my 5 miles every morning this week and on Saturday I took it easy just hitting my 10k step goal. My body needed a rest after the week I had. I've been working on cutting down the time of my 5k it's slowly getting better which is all that matters. One day at a time.

  1. Oh your blueberries and strawberries sound amazing!! I am terrible at growing things, but I used to have tomato plants that I loved! Perhaps I will give it another shot!

  4. I love blueberries but have never grown them, that would be kinda neat. It was spring break here too but I didn't get a lot of reading done, although I made up for it some this weekend. Hope you have a great week!

Brownies and peanut butter cups? Yummy ha ha!

  5. Jaws is one of my favourite movies, so I'd definitely use a bag like that with pride! :)
