The Feature & Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee of Parajunkee’s View and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it’ll allow us to show off more new blogs!
Recently Feature & Follow has gotten a makeover now each week we will have a prompt to respond to.

Any other way you like.
My email followers are low and I'm working on changing that. However, you are welcome to follow in your preferred form.  If you want to follow via GFC just in case it goes away I ask you follow a second way, email, Linky, Bloglovin'. Thanks!!!!

This Week's Prompt:

What is your take on DNF books. Do you review them? Choose not to review them?

Answer:

This one is a tough one because I hate to DNF a book to start with. I try really hard to give each book a chance trying to read at least 30% of the novel in question. I don't have a lot of DNF novels in general because I always try to find something I like about the book. Most of the time I just put them down and move because I would hate to dissuade someone who might actually enjoy the book, of course, there is the exception to the rules. Sometimes I do share a snippet of my thoughts if I feel like it's worth reading.

This week was a little tough what is your most interesting bookish memory or experience?.

  1. I'm not one for DNF-ing if I can help it but if I do I post a review regardless, just my personal policy, but I understand it's somewhat of a hot topic so everyone has their own thoughts on the matter. :)

I remember writing about an interesting bookish experience for a past FF but one woul dhave to be getting to rearrange my high school's library because the librarian was new and clueless about what people were reading.

Have a good weekend and happy reading!

  2. Yeah DNFing is rare for me too. I usually give it 50 pages or so and if I'm not hooked in some way, I just stop because life is short and there are a ton of books I know I want to read. The DNF usually comes about with a book I felt hesitant about anyway, but decided to take the plunge. But in a calendar year I probably DNF less than 5 if even 4!

  3. I am one of those completionists. Like Austine, I wince at the thought of DNFing. I've only DNFed 4 books since I started blogging, and one of those was a classic I tried again and just couldn't. My policy is I have to get 40% into the book. 99% of the time, I keep reading to the end. But either way, I review the book. The thing is, I feel like people think a DNF review is not reviewed in the same was as their 5 star reviews. If that is the case, I don't think that is fair. My reviews are always the same: honest and fair, and I include elements I liked and things that were done really well, and the things I didn't like and why.

  4. I usually don't review books I've DNF since I've always felt that it wouldn't be fair to review a book that you haven't finished.

  5. I DNF books very rarely. I don't often review them unless I'm obligated to than I try to share it in private with the person I have the agreement with. Following on Instagram
