Top Ten Tuesday!

Top Ten Tuesday!
Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke And The Brookish. Who doesn't love lists. They make life easy! And fun!! It's always a never ending topic.

I'm playing around with my own graphic I'll be trying a few out of the next month. I want one unique to me.

This week's topic:

Top ten books I own that I don't see myself reading.

1. Stormdancer by Jay Kristoff - I was really excited for this one and love the cover but it's been sitting on my bookshelf since I preordered and I've never once considered reading it. I hope that will change but I'm not holding my breath.

2. Grave Mercy by Robin LaFevers - I also picked up this one when it came out but it just sits on my shelf with the hopes that one day I'll be motivated to pick it up. So far that hasn't happened.

3. OZ by L. Frank Baum - I picked up the series with every intention of reading them all this year but it's over half way through the year and I've not even read a single one. I don't see it happening at this rate. At least it was only a few dollars for the kindles.

4. Nicholas Sparks - I have at least 5 of his books that I've purchased with every intention of reading. I even did a challenge last year but never happened didn't even read a single one. I don't know what it is I just can't find the desire to read them. However I did love the movie Safe Haven.

5. Orleans by Sherri L. Smith - I picked this one up for a challenge last year with every intention of reading it but before I could open it another book caught my eye and it's been forgotten.

6. Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L. James - I have the first one but I never have once considered opening it nor do I plan on reading it. My cousin suggested it to me and I was tempted to read it for her but not enough to talk myself into it.

7. Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy - I really wanted to read this one after watching the movie so I picked up a copy but never once have I ever had an inkling to pull it off the shelf. It's not my kind of book so I don't see it happening ever.

8. The Fault in Our Stars by John Green - I have the book because I was going to read it before the movie but I knew when I picked it up it wouldn't happen. I just can't bring myself to read a sad story even though I've heard it's such an amazing book.

9. Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn - I was really excited for this one picked up a copy before the movie was announced but everyone I speak to about it tells me it's terrible. I've only met one person who's liked it the book so it's found a place on my shelf forever it seems.

10. Dead Until Dark by Charlaine Harris - I've been watching True Blood for ages on HBO but I'm not current sadly. I had hoped to read the book but it never seemed to happen. I do have the first one on my kindle with hopes that one day.

What's on your top ten list this week?

  1. Haven't read any of these myself except for Dead Until Dark. Mostly because these are outside my reading genre. Except for 10! I actually liked this one though. You have to put the show out of your mind since it's different, but the first season did better than recent ones to staying true to the book. I still need see season 6 but season 5 was definitely the furthest from the book then the earlier ones. Granted they do all have differences, but it really went wayward with that one!

  2. I love the cover of Stormdancer but every time I read the synopsis I know it's not for me. I have been tempted to buy it though, just so I can have the pretty cover on my shelf.

  3. I loved Grave Mercy and the first Sookie book. I'd skip 50 Shades of Grey, it was so horribly written. Gone Girl is one that everyone keeps telling me to read, but I doubt I will do more than watch the movie. Great list!

  4. I've read The Fault In Our Stars and loved it, but I've not read any of the others on your list! Gone Girl almost made my own list, and Nicholas Sparks novels actually did because I have a massive phobia of unhappy endings! My sister owns so many of his books and keeps trying to make me read them, to no avail.I will never read Fifty Shades Of Grey either so you aren't alone there!

  5. Grave Mercy sounds interesting to me, but like you, I don't know if I'll ever read it. I read the Sookie Stackhouse books before the show started. They're pretty different and I actually couldn't get into the show because of that. I never did finish reading the series though, and now I don't know if I ever will.
