Diary Entry

June 19th 2014

I can't believe we are already over half way through June. It just seems like the days are flying by with both kids home and now two puppies it's no surprise my reading time has been limited.

Both of my children are showing an interest in reading which I love. We have been going to the library every few days to get new books. The older one wants a kindle so he is earning money towards one for each book and review he writes. The little one enjoys reading them together and after the first time she makes up her own stories.

My hubby is on his way to Hawaii then off to Japan and back for work. Must be nice to travel all over the world. Some days I'm jealous than I remember I hate to fly...lol. On a good note with the hubby out of town I hope to get a lot of reading done over the next week.

Nostalgia
I've been thinking about reading a bunch of books from when I was a teen. I have a lot I want to re-read since it's been ages since I've read them. I'm also thinking of re-reading Anita Blake & Stephanie Plum. We shall see. Do you ever have moments where you crave books from your past? I'm almost done with Witch World by Christopher Pike and it makes me wonder how much his writing style has changed.

Upcoming reading.
I have a small list of books I need to read in anticipation of movies/tv shows.
Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn
Dark Places by Gillian Flynn
Maze Runner by James Dashner
City of Ashes by Cassandra Clare
Outlander by Diana Gabaldon
If I Stay by Gayle Forman
This is my list so far it seems to keep growing. Do you have any of these on your TBR or have you read them already? I've heard lots of good things about these books and hope to read them before the movie or TV

 show starts.

Unlikely kindle mishaps
I've had a rough couple of weeks with kindle keyboards. I'm down to one from three which makes me really sad. Unfortunately amazon doesn't offer them as replacement so it's upgrade to a paper white or tablet which I already have. I'm going to wait till my last one dies and upgrade to a paper white it looks like. Do you prefer to use a tablet to read or are you like me holding on to your old keyboard kindle?

New Books
Last book I purchased was....The Murder Complex by Lindsay Cummings (Goodreads) This one sounds creepy but like a must read so I added it to my kindle. It's been a while since I read a creepy dystopian novel.
I've been craving chic lit books so I expect to see a few of those in my future too. I'm also hoping to catch up on the new books coming out in the series I've been reading. I have a few that I love but I'm not current on.

I've been slacking on this post. I hope to get back into the groove. The whole blogging/reading burn out has been a killer but it's getting better.

Happy reading!
