My Dusty Bookshelf

My Dusty Bookshelf
I've got an addiction for adding books to my bookshelf but never getting around to them. I'm sure I'm not the only one either. It's just so easy with all the new books to forget about the older ones. I'd like to start reading some of the books I've had for years and just haven't read. I thought this would be a good way to share and rekindle some interest in my dusty books. Plus I love giving books a little extra spotlight when I can.

I picked this one up for my kindle when it first came out but never seemed to find the time.

The Rules
by Stacey Kade
(Goodreads)

Synopsis

1. Never trust anyone.

2. Remember they are always searching.

3. Don’t get involved.

4. Keep your head down.

5. Don’t fall in love.

Five simple rules. Ariane Tucker has followed them since the night she escaped from the genetics lab where she was created, the result of combining human and extraterrestrial DNA. Ariane’s survival—and that of her adoptive father—depends on her ability to blend in among the full-blooded humans in a small Wisconsin town, to hide in plain sight at her high school from those who seek to recover their lost (and expensive) “project.”

But when a cruel prank at school goes awry, it puts her in the path of Zane Bradshaw, the police chief’s son and someone who sees too much. Someone who really sees her. After years of trying to be invisible, Ariane finds the attention frightening—and utterly intoxicating. Suddenly, nothing is simple anymore, especially not the rules…

What's on your dusty bookshelf? Do you have books that have been there for years? I do. I can't wait to see what you have to share this week. Be sure to leave a comment with a link so I can check yours out. Happy Reading!!!

  1. I should really pick up some of my older books again. One of them is The Princess Bride. I still haven't read that book and start to feel ashamed as it's been quoted in so many other books and everyone loves it. I want to know what they're talking about, but I keep forgetting to pick it up.

  2. I loved The Princes Bride, both the movie and the book. I have so many books on my shelf, I really need to buckle down and stop buying new and start reading what I have!!!! I have not read The Rules, but it is on the list to vote for what we want to read for next month. I think I am going to vote for it.
