The Dusty Bookshelf #1

My Dusty Bookshelf
I've got an addiction for adding books to my bookshelf but never getting around to them. I'm sure I'm not the only one either. It's just so easy with all the new books to forget about the older ones. I'd like to start reading some of the books I've had for years and just haven't read. I though this would be a good way to share and rekindle some interest in my dusty books. Plus I love giving books a little extra spotlight when I can.

I have a few to share. One of the first kindle ebooks I added to my kindle and one off the bookshelf I forgot I had.

Ebook
Vampire Vacation
by C.J. Ellisson
Synopsis

Meet Vivian. She's a 580-year-old vampire who exudes sex, has a talent for drama, and is passionate about two things: her human husband, Rafe, and their resort for the undead. Her ability to project physical illusions has created the perfect vacation spot-a dark, isolated Alaskan hideaway where visitors can have their wildest fantasies come true.

Vivian knows the best performance requires perfect timing, but the powerful vamp is put to the test when she discovers a corpse in a locked guestroom minutes before the next arrivals. Always cool-headed, Rafe hides the body, convinced he and Vivian can find the culprit without disturbing their guests. Juggling the increasingly outrageous demands of their customers while tracking a killer isn't easy.

Will their poking and prodding give them the answers they need, or will it uncover secrets Vivian would kill to protect?

I picked this one up in 2011 as a kindle freebie with every intention of reading it. However with all the freebies it was lost among all my other ebooks. It sounds like a fun vampire story that I plan to read in the near future hopefully it won't be forgotten again.

Physical
Urban Shaman
by C.E. Murphy
(Goodreads)

Synopsis

Seattle cop, Joanne Walker, returns from vacation to have her life turned upside down. She is pursued by a Celtic God, and forced to acknowledge an aspect of the universe she's never seen before. Even if she survives, she will forever be changed by this adventure.

I've had this one on my shelf since 2008 at least. It's one I keep picking up to read but it always ends on the shelf again. I hope to fit it in for a challenge of some kind this year.

What do you have on your dusty shelf?

  1. This is a great idea to showcase some older books that we have. Do you think you will turn this into a link-up meme in the future? I have Vampire Vacation as well on my shelf. I love the covers for the series.
