Top Ten Tuesday!

Top Ten Tuesday!
Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke And The Brookish. Who doesn't love lists. They make life easy! And fun!! It's always a never ending topic.

This week's topic is:

Top ten books you'd pair with a 'required reading' or books that should be required readings
I just picked books I've read off the required reading list to pair. It's been awhile since I was in school.

To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee (Goodreads) with Terra by Gretchen Powell (Goodreads) a modern day take on the classic.

Romeo and Juliet  by William Shakespeare (Goodreads) with Twilight by Stephanie Meyer (Goodreads) This one made me giggle but it's a modern day forbidden romance just he's already dead =D

The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank (Goodreads) & Night by Elie Wiesel (Goodreads) both deserve to be together even if they are both required I think they are must reads. It mind boggles me that people believe the holocaust never happened.

Much Ado About Nothing by William Shakespeare (Goodreads) & Taming of the Shrew by William Shakespeare (Goodreads) - I just can't seem to get enough of his work.

The Complete Works of Edgar Allen Poe by Edgar Allan Poe  (Goodreads) One of my favorite dark writers while in school. Love the creepy factor.

The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald (Goodreads) I enjoyed this one, and have it on my re-read list for the new future.

Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen (Goodreads) the only book I feel like I truely missed out on reading and should be required. It's on my TBR for this year.

What about you? What books do you think should be required reading?

  1. I put To Kill A Mockingbird with Noughts and Crosses, but I've never heard of Terra! Sounds good

  2. I was pretty miffed Jane Austen wasn't in my school reading - I'm a huge fan of hers (although I'm undetermined on Emma as I can't seem to finish it. Austen herself that Emma was her most difficult character to like haha)
