Diary Entry

Diary Update

I decided to do my own little daily post that shows a recap of my posts and a teaser or other thought I wanted to share. At first I was going to call is This and That but came up with the idea of doing the Dear Diary concept. I'm sure this will turn into a bookish rambling daily post but I'll try to keep it to a low. Plus I love to journal so this works well also.

Before the X-mas holiday I created this little daily post in hopes of using it as a way to blog more. I sort of slacked after starting it but I'm going to try to bring it back.

I started out Monday with a plan for the weeks reading. Then when I picked up my kindle the battery was dead....then I grabbed the new kindle fire also dead. So I decided to go out of the box and picked a book off the shelf. I decided to do Katana by Cole Gibsen. I've been dying to read it since it first came out. So after vowing to not buy it till I got caught up I caved and picked up a copy a few months back. So Katana has been teasing me on the shelf for months, since I had the dead kindles I used as an excuse to start reading. I plan to finish today as well as have my review up.
Teaser's for Katana Chapter 13 pg 92-93

The first attacker lunged for me, screaming, with his blade held high over his head. As he got close, the cold silk from the attack outside the parking lot returned. It unraveled from within, stretching to my fingers and toes. It pushed open my lungs, allowed me to breathe, and froze my fear into a solid lump that fell and shattered against the hard pit of my stomach. As it had in the mall parking lot, a calm focus flooded through me and pushed the confusion from my mind.
This one is inexperienced with a blade, the voice whispered. It won’t take much to bring him down.
I felt the unfamiliar smile return to my lips—this was going to be fun. I dodged the outstretched blade inches before my skin was to be torn apart by sharpened metal. Spinning behind the first attacker, I ducked low to the ground, kicked my leg, and swept his feet out from under him. He landed on his back and groaned.
The next attacker circled me, his eyes darting nervously back and forth between me and his fallen comrade. His body was rigid as he waited for an opportunity to move in.
This one is looking for a hole in our defense. We mustn’t give him one.
“Sounds good to me,” I whispered.
         The attacker hesitated.
I straightened my stance. “Yeah that’s right, I’m talking to myself! What of it?”

With the hubby out of town for work I should have plenty of time to catch up on the rest of my reading since I've been slacking.  My original Monday plan (Here)

So I'm sure a lot of you are like me and have a huge list of blogs you follow. I read every single email and I get a few hundred a day. I've joined so many awesome challenges this year for reading I'm really looking forward to them.  (My Challenges) My newest one this week is the Zombie Challenge I've got a sick twisted love of zombies. They are the only thing that goes bump in the night that really scares me, more so because I could see scientists creating them before I see sparkly vampires or teenage werewolves.

I spent the morning working on my plan for a new design but nothing is for sure yet. I let my little girl when I started pick the main color which is purple plus I like the girlie aspect too. I want to customize all my meme's and just overhaul.

A little about me
I prefer physical books to e-books because I love the smell, feel and cover art. However I still love my kindles because I can take many books with me on the go.

stuff I never leave home without
1. one or two kindles depends how long I will be gone. Typically I bring a charger.
2. Notbook with pen so I can write down ideas or make lists.
3. Iphone so I can read my emails or what not.
4. Ipod because I love music even though the hubby makes me listen to his sports shows.

I love kindle freebies I find a few today while checking out amazon

Leopard Moon by Jeanette Battista (Amazon)

Keegan's Chronicles by Julie Crane (Amazon)

Dangerous by Alycia Linwood (Amazon)

Dark World by Danielle Q. Lee (Amazon)

I love stumbling along kindle freebies the only issues is I never have enough time because of my review pile to read them. However the covers are so beautiful on my kindle fire I want to read them desperately.

Don't forget to check out my Waiting On Wednesday for today.
I can't wait to get my hands on Level 2.
This year is filled with so many books I can't wait to read.
So many books so little time.
