Review

I received Violet Midnight in return for a honest review as part of the Violet Midnight Tour at Bewitching Book Tours. Emma Martin's life changed forever the night she lost her parents, she was welcomed into a new world she didn't know existed. Hey eyes went from brown to Violet, she has a tattoo on her wrist that glows when a vampire is near, her skin in tough unable to be pierced, and she can call objects from her car truck. She has no idea how or why her, but with help from another hunter she knows what she has to do. For the last two year she's been hunting vampires and attempting to lead a normal college girl life with her best friend Ava who doesn't know about Emma's abilities.

After three months of no vampire activities on campus they are back and Emma once again has to start fighting against the vampires, but this time she's not alone. She meets Jack Cunningham a college guy who also has a similar tattoo, but with black eyes. The pair instantly connect and Emma starts to teach Jack about being a hunter since he has not training or knowledge of vampires. The pair set out to research from the journals that Emma has from the hunter who trained her. Suddenly strangers show up confronting Jack about his past, causing him to push Emma away for fear of hurting her.

I loved Violet Midnight, it's a unique twist on vampires which I found refreshing. I really liked Emma as a character, she's a kick ass heroine but strikes me as the girl next door, who cares a lot about her friends. She reminds me a lot of a new modern day Buffy the vampire slayer but maybe that's because I was a fan as a teen. I was on the fence about Jack at first because I wasn't sure but in the end I love the chemistry and relationship that the two share together it's so sweet. I read Violet Midnight in one reading session it sucked me in and I didn't put it down till I was at the last page, it's packed full of entertainment. I look forward to reading the next one in the series because I loved the first one.
