Review

I received this book in return for a honest review as part of the R2R for the Paranormal Romance & Urban Fantasy Fanatics! group on goodreads. This is the continuation of Shades story from the first book Ever Shade. So just a recap from book one Shade has a chance meeting with a Teleen Faery who leads her off to the Seelie Faerie Court where she learns that she is a halfling part faery and part human. However it isn't as it appears and in a attempt on her life she accepts a blood bond from the brother. Shade is sent to find the Santiran Fountain that's water will tip the scales in the Seelie's favor. It's not a easy quest for Shade but she does it meeting many faery some good and some not.

In book two the UnSeelie Queen Aveta is ramping up her powers intent on gaining Shade to control her water magic. Not to far in Shades bodyguard and my favorite guy Dylan is sent home at request of his queen he returns to her court. So through most of the book Shade is alone which isn't to bad because she has Soap aka Rylan to protect her from the threat of the UnSeelie Queen's Lieutenants. In this book Shade learns that her mother Jade is a fire witch as are her siblings, she also learns that her mother has all her memories back. She also briefly get's the meet her grandmother on her father's side before she passes away.

This book was really good, not as good as the first but still really good. I like the characters I really love the whole Shade and Dylan thing it wasn't love at first sight but it's grown into something beautiful. This book is mostly about Shade learning to control her powers, learning who she is and more about the threat from the UnSeelie Queen. The book flows along smoothly well written just like the other I read it in a few hours this morning because I couldn't put it down I just have to know what's going to happen next. So I can't wait to get my hands on the next book I wish I had it now. I enjoy that we get to watch Shade grow into the powerful being that she's going to be, and I enjoy all the different beings too. It's a great book I just wanted more action but that's just me.

  1. Shades of Iron Fey, anyone? Seriously, this sounds like a good one for YA fantasy lovers - I will recommend it to my Not-So-Bebe-Girl Autumn!
