Throwback Thursday July 26th

Throwback Thursday July 26th

Throwback Thursday is a weekly meme hosted by The Housework Can Wait and Never to fond of Books.

It's the nature of book blogging to focus mainly on new releases, but there are thousands of great books out there that haven't seen the "New Releases" shelf in years. We hope to be able to bring attention to some older titles that may or not be at the top of the current bestseller list, but still deserve a spot in your To-Be-Read pile.

You don't have to be a book blogger to participate! You can put up a Throwback Thursday post on your non-bookish blog; or if you don't have a blog at all you can use the comments to tell us about a book your remember fondly.

This week I decided to do another series this one is a Throwback from when I was a teen it was a series I enjoyed reading, and have continued to read ever so often over the years. I have fond memories of running to the bookstore to pick up the next one so I could learn more about my favorite vampire.

The Last Vampire Series or Thirst Series
Christopher Pike
Published May 1st 1994
Synopsis
Sita is five thousand years old and believes she is the last vampire. When someone begins hunting her, she thinks it is the client of a detective she killed. She enrolls in high school and befriends the detective’s son, and later falls in love with him.
Meanwhile, Sita’s creator Yaksha has been following her, believing he must kill her to atone for his sins. Sita thought she had killed him years before.

Review
This is the original cover for the book that I had. I would say I still have them but as a teen I wasn't he best at taking care of books. If I remember right this one went over the side of a ski boat while I was wake boarding but I can't remember for sure. I do know I had to purchase a few of them over because of other water accidents. Yup I wasn't very careful like I am now.
I can't describe this series any better then "I Love it!" as my son would say when he has something he loves. This book easily draws me in every time I read it, and I can't stop with just one I have to read the whole series in a row.
Recently the original six have been made into a two part volume. Which I rushed out to buy because I'm a sucker who loves this series.  Now in October 2010 a new book was added to the series The Eternal Dawn. Followed by August 2011 The Shadow of Death. I have not read either of these in part because I'm nervous it will ruin the fond memories of the series I have, but that didn't stop me from buying them since they all have a collection of beautiful covers.

  1. Oh, Christopher Pike. I remember reading his books in middle school and thinking they were so cool :-) Also, if you're going to lose a book, over the side of a boat while wake boarding is the way to do it.

    Great pick! My Throwback
